Huddle Focus: Phoenix
Witnessing God’s work in the lives of others is an incredible blessing, and the Phoenix group has had several opportunities to watch God move this year.
Through summer conferences, after-school classes and much more, the Phoenix huddle has seen incredible things happen. Teammates have been willing to stand up and sacrifice their time in order to carry out God’s will, and He has poured out His mercy. Though the broad base of Phoenix does not allow teammates to see each other very regularly, they consider it a blessing whenever they see someone with Team FCA gear in local races.
Over the summer, they witnessed an incredible act of God as a mom and her two children were baptized. They had been attending the after school running and triathlon classes being taught by the huddle and also attended the sports camp this summer. The family now attends church and Bible studies regularly and both the mom and her children are growing in their walk with the Lord. What a great example of how God works in all the things we do…even athletics!
The Phoenix huddle is planning a potluck dinner this fall, will host an EMI seminar in October and will begin teaching an after school cycling class within the next month. The huddle is also planning to volunteer at Ironman Arizona and is praying about hosting a pancake breakfast in February 2010 at a 24 hour mountain bike race in Tucson.
